Wales Bonner

Grace Wales Bonner’s brand has always revolved around representing Black culture and history. She was born in South London to a Jamaican father and an English mother. Influential figures, such as Haile Selassie and James Baldwin, have previously inspired the polymath designer’s meticulously crafted, referential menswear.

With Wales Bonner, Grace is trying to create a cultural brand inspired by her own identity, as she told British Vogue after her most recent presentation. She said that she wants to open her brand up so that people can see themselves in it.
