These Are The Shoes Everyone Will Be Rocking This Fall

Although it seems like September is still far away, there is no better time to get your feet into the trending footwear styles for fall. Comfort has been the highlight of 2023 fashion so far. From sneakers to wedges, this year’s fall trends are dope! Here are five shoes everyone will be wearing this upcoming season.

Time to lace it up!

If what we see on the runways is any indication, then this fall promises us laced-up footwear. Expect lots of laces this season on all kinds of shoes and styles, from knee-high boots to chunky sneakers. So it’s time to dust off those combat boots in your closet or buy a new pair.

While ballet-shoe ankle ribbons appeared at Vivienne Westwood and Ulla Johnson, Gucci delivered sneaker boots with laces looped around the ankles, and models in the Patou Fall/Winter show were spotted in similarly styled thigh-high denim boots.

Getting over the wedge

Wedges have been losing popularity for years—maybe because they tend to remind people of the cork ones that trended in the mid-’00s. The wedges that graced the fall 2023 runways didn’t look like anything the ones you wore to a frat party in 2015, though.

All of the wedges we’re seeing right now are far more covetable than they are controversial, and they’re all helping rebrand the style. Opt for minimal and skinny wedges rather than chunky ones. Models walked in neutral wedges at the Fall/Winter 2023 Tory Burch show, so you should too.

Staying comfy in and out of the house

If wearing a pair of fuzzy slippers is your preferred footwear for lounging around, now you can wear them out of the house. At the recent Fashion Week, we got all the confirmation we needed that elevated bunny slippers paired with dimensional dresses are here to stay.

The furry material has long been used in footwear, but the new iterations feel more unexpected. From high-heeled flip flops to horse-bit fuzzy pumps, different designers set the trend.

Ballet flats are back from 2010

Remember the ballet flat trend of the 2000s? Everyone from Kim Kardashian to Katie Holmes had multiple pairs. We all envied them for their collections. However, once 2013 hit, we were over the craze. Yet, influencers and designers have resurged the trend ten years later.

This shoe has become a staple for the office, brunch, and just walking around. Fill your closet with at least one pair in black or a pop of color like red. Designers like Chanel and Miu Miu have graced their runways with the trend.

Over-the-knee boots

You were probably expecting this, right? There is practically no trend that can replace boots in the fall season. Well, this year’s fall just gives you more options, so you’re never restricted to wearing the same boot every day in the season.

Over-the-knee boots are more than welcome this fall; we saw lots of them on the runway. You can pair these with almost anything, from maxi skirts to denim. The slouchy boot, flat boot, and buckled boot will rule the streets this season too.
