Lanvin (2010)
While we expected Lanvin’s extravagant designs to be nearly impossible to replicate on a high-street budget, the collection captured a sense of the brand’s magic. People rushed out to get their hands on the couture-inspired ruffled dresses, faux-fur coats, graphic statement T-shirts, and elaborate jewelry.
The success of the 2010 collaboration can be attributed in part to Alber Elbaz’s willingness to collaborate with H&M. Elbaz decided to give H&M his Lanvin secrets and the patterns. But the collection not only captured Elbaz’s spirit but also brought many of his signature designs to minimum-wage fashionistas.
